Many animal health and subsequent economic decisions are based on the value of the animal’s body temperature. In many species the body temperature plays a key role in the treatment protocol design and eventual treat or not to treat decisions. With this in mind, the accuracy of the body temperature measurement becomes very important. A variation of 0.5 degrees or more could alter the initiation of treatment or other health related decision.
